SBI has taught me to use a 4-Step process to building my web business. They make online business success do-able. Anyone can succeed with an all-in-one process, tools, and guidance. You probably have seen the diagram, below, while watching the Video Tour. This 4-step process is simple, but I would not say that it's easy. After all, building a real business takes some work and effort. But, it can be done.
Step 1: Content
When a person browses the Internet they are seeking for information, or maybe a solution to a problem. Content is king on the Internet and someone has to provide it.. What SBI has taught me is how to write quality, in-demand content about something I know and have a passion for.
To be honest with you, I didn't think I could write for the Internet. I didn't have the confidence to do so. But, reading the Action Guide and the Netwriting Masters Course not only taught me how to write for the Net. It taught me how to write with a voice that will captivate people who are looking for what I have.
I didn't get this down in one sitting. It took me many practice sessions of writing and re-writing content. I figured the more I write, the better I will get. I'm pretty sure you have heard the saying, "Practice makes perfect!" Well, it's true.
The Action Guide showed me how to use SBI's tools to research keywords. Then to write content around that keyword so people can find it at the search engines.
Step 2: Traffic
As I write more content on topics within my niche, it ranks high at the search engines. SBI has taught me how to attract "free", "targeted" visitors aka traffic. I don't know about you, but I don't want to work for my site by paying for traffic... and I don't. I would rather for my site to work for me.
I remember my very first website I tried to setup. I didn't know anything about SEO, or keyword research. I plastered the site with banner ads and the like. The site had, almost, no content - just banner ads. And the funny thing is... I didn't have any traffic. I didn't have a clue how to build traffic. I thought I could just put up a web site and automatically get traffic. Boy, was I wrong!
What I didn't understand is that, If you have no traffic, you have nothing to monetize. Therefore, you have no business. The website is now sitting at the bottom of the world-wide web, probably collecting dust.
When I started www.fit-2-hoop.com, I saw how my traffic started to trickle in little by little. Mostly, it's because I got the first part of the C-T-P-M process right.. build more content. That's it.
Step 3: PREsell
PREselling is a concept "invented" by SiteSell, part of the C T P M process. The concept is simple. It's all about building trust, credibility and relationship with people who visit my site. Because my home business is small, I had to build that first, before I monetize. Seems obvious, right? So few people do it, or they don't do it right, online.
If you are anything like me.... don't like to sell. This is perfect because their is no selling. I don't do any selling on my site. I simply share my knowledge and valuable information that establishes me as an expert in my niche. If visitors like what they see and read... they will email me and let me know. They began to develop trust and confidence in me. So, when I make a recommendation that clearly highlights all the positives and negatives of a product, they often will click one of my affiliate links and purchase the product.
I'm always looking out for the best interest of my visitors.
It's true, you know... People do business with people who they like and trust.
Once I have my own PREsold traffic, the bulk of the work is done and I'm now, ready for the last step.
Step 3: Monetize
I'm asked all the time, "How do you make money from a site that provides free information?" This is the answer, monetization. If you have done the first three steps correctly, then this should be the easiest of the 4 steps. This step allows you to convert warm, willing-to-buy visitors into income.
I'm learning how to make money from multiple income streams like: Google Ads and Affiliate programs. Later on, as my site grows, I can maximize my income by selling my own products. I have so many ideas I want to put into place, but less time to do it. I still work a full-time job, so I don't get a chance to work on my site as much.MONETIZATION
always comes last... it's the final result of doing everything else (C-T-P) correctly.
Content leads to Traffic and PREselling that traffic leads to Monetization (i.e., revenue generation).
