Lift Up Hula Hoop Trick

One of the tricks I love to do is the "Lift Up hula hooping trick". It is an off body move where you use your hand to lift the hoop up off your waist above your head. The hoop is floating up your body above your head. This a very graceful move and it takes some practicing. But, once you get the hand motion down you should be fine.

It took me almost two hours of practice to learn this move. Afterwards, I had a hula hoop contest with a friend, who could only hoop around her waist. I didn't tell her about all the cool tricks I knew. But, when I pulled this trick out of the bag, she was stunned!

I felt really good that I knew something she didn't. :-) However, I did manage to show her how to perform this move.

You can, also, learn how to do this trick." This next video is excellent at explaining the technique. Pay close attention to the direction you are hooping because this will determine which hand you should use to lift the hoop up off your waist.

I love how the young lady explains this technique by referring to the hand that lifts the hoop as your "first hand".

For example, if you are hooping to the "left", then your first hand will be your "right" hand. If you are hooping to the "right", then your first hand will be your "left" hand. This is key to learning this move.

Ready to get started? Good!

Just Remember, to pay close attention to the direction you are hooping so you will know which hand is your "first hand" to lift the hoop from your waist.

Now, that was sooooooo cool! You try it...
